Flu vaccinations are available at all four QMC locations giving you choice and flexibility. Getting your flu jab is crucial for safeguarding your health and the community. The vaccine prevents flu spread, protecting vulnerable groups. By vaccinating, you reduce the strain on healthcare and contribute to public health efforts. Flu vaccinations are available at all four QMC locations.

From the 2nd of April 2024, QMC is able to offer funded (free) flu vaccinations for eligible people, see criteria at Immunise | Te Whatu Ora.
Funding available for eligible people.
The 2024 flu vaccine is free for:
- people aged 65 years and over
- people who have a long-term medical condition like diabetes, asthma, or a heart condition (ages 6 months and older)
- pregnant people
- children aged 4 years and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness or have a history of significant respiratory illness
- people with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizoaffective disorder
- people who are currently accessing secondary or tertiary mental health and addiction services.
The funded flu vaccine for children and adults (6 months of age and over) available in Aotearoa New Zealand is called Influvac Tetra.

Patients can book into any nurse appointment. The charge is $59.50.

To schedule your appointment, our enrolled patients can easily use Manage My Health. Choose your preferred location and book a nurse appointment.
For casual patients, simply give us a call to book your flu jab at one of our four practice locations.

The vaccination
Appointments are quick and straightforward. If you are over 65, our nurses are able to talk you through the options (there are two vaccinations available for this age group). Our skilled nurses will make the vaccination a painless process.
After the vaccination
You will be required to wait up to 20 minutes after your vaccination so please allow yourself this time as you plan your day.
