Isle Street

As our Isle Street practice is our biggest centre, our healthcare providers work in two general practice teams to provide our enrolled and regular casual patients with a higher standard of healthcare. These teams comprise of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

Our enrolled patients also have free access to Health Coaches and Health Improvement Practitioners. We offer After Hours & Urgent Care to all patients regardless of enrolment status, no appointment is needed. At Isle Street we hold regular clinics with a more specialised focus, ranging from Travel Health to Sexual Health. We are also co-located with radiology and blood/lab testing services making the patient’s journey seamless and convenient.

Sexual Health Clinic

A specialist service offering confidential sexual health care.

Clinics are held at our Isle Street on Monday & Thursday afternoon & at Remarkables Park on Wednesday afternoon.

At the clinic, we offer support to develop a sense of self-esteem, personal attractiveness and competence, along with freedom from sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted diseases and sexual assault/coercion.
Diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Most STIs are easily treated with antibiotics and/or creams. Some STIs, however, remain in a person’s immune system for a long time. We can support you in managing your symptoms in your consultation. e.g. HSV, HPV, HIV.

Our contraceptive clinic provides various birth control options, including IUDs, contraceptive pills, injections, condoms, and emergency contraception.
Government funding schemes can be available.
Depending on government funding schemes available, consultations may be free for some enrolled patients.

Queenstown Medical Centre has a dedicated fracture clinic with a view to providing the highest standard of acute and follow up fracture care.
Services include follow up x-rays, changing of casts and ongoing follow-up to ensure good outcomes.

Australian Immigration Medicals
The examination is conducted by panel physicians approved by the Australian government. Applicants may need to undergo a physical examination, provide their medical history, and undertake additional tests like blood tests or chest x-rays, depending on their age, country of origin, and visa type.
Smoking Cessation
To help you “Quit”, we have several nurses at QMC who are all trained to help you quit smoking and are approved to offer NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) exchange cards.
Access to a Health Improvement Practitioner and a Health Improvement Coach
QMC is able to offer its enrolled patients free access to both a HIP (Health Improvement Practitioner) and a HIC (Health Improvement Coach). Together, they support patients with a range of health and wellbeing needs.

Skin Health

Skin care & minor surgery services.

If you have any spots or areas of skin that you are concerned about or want to prioritise early prevention, our skin health services can help.
Single spot checks are available with any clinician at our four locations.
Full body mole checks are assessed by our specialty skin doctors.
If you are needing a full body mole check the following Doctors can complete this for you: Dr Simpson, Dr Anderson , Dr Curran, Dr Hutchison or Dr Macharg. ‍ The appointment will take approximately 20-30 min and may include immediate treatment of any precancerous lesion.

Travel Clinic

Travel health & vaccinations services

Available every Wednesday afternoon at our Isle Street Practice.
We hold a full stock of immunisations, including tetanus, polio, hepatitis A & B and, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies and other vaccines.

Vasectomy Clinic

How it works

A vasectomy is a minor procedure performed in the GP Clinic that provides permanent contraception and peace of mind.
Dr Milne Simpson has been performing vasectomies for 20+ years in the Whakatipu Basin.
If you're confident you've finished your family or don't want kids, a vasectomy offers a permanent male contraceptive option. Compared to alternative contraception, a vasectomy is a permanent procedure that does not affect performance or hormones.

Cervical Screening

Cervical Screening Clinic at QMC

Regular cervical screening is your best protection against cervical cancer.
Queenstown Medical Centre has dedicated cervical screening clinics at Jacks Point, Isle street and Remarkables Park.
Appointments are 15 minutes in length and offer two options for how you have your screening sample taken. A vaginal swab — you can either self-test or a health professional can help. A cervical sample (previously known as a smear test) — taken by a health professional.
