About QMC

Our practice was originally set up by Dr Pat Farry in 1970. Passionate about growing and improving rural health services for New Zealanders through bringing clinicians together, Pat was a pioneer in this field. We are proud to continue his legacy.

Today, the QMC team comprises of GPs, nurse practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistants, management and support staff (patient-facing and back-office). Our team are specialist providers of primary care services with a broad range of skills and expertise. We are a trusted first port of call for any health issue for both our local community and visitors. Many of our clinicians have special interests in specific areas of medicine such as skin lesions, travel health and sexual health.

We are also complimented by a wide range of other visiting specialists and can recommend or refer to other specialists New Zealand wide.

We pride ourselves in looking after the “whole “ you, bringing together all aspects of your health.

As an enrolled patient you can be seen at any of our four clinics located centrally in Queenstown, Arrowtown, Jack's Point and Remarkables Park. Visitors can drop into our After Hours & Urgent Care   (at 9 Isle Street), it is the only 365 day a year  After Hours & Urgent Care in the Wakatipu.

One of the first Southern area Health Care Homes, we are committed to the future of primary care and accredited with  the Royal College of General Practitioners.

We are a Registered Teaching Practice and are affiliated with the University of Otago.
